What a magical day! I was amazed by the sheer beauty of the ceremony (an Orthodox Russian Ceremony). It’s not every day we witness a ceremony that has been passed down over the centuries. Everything about it was ornate and so precious. I teared up at the sure fact that this was the same ceremony so many people have engaged in over such a vast history. Ashlee looked goregous in her gown, and Aleks looked quite dapper in his tux. The rings were escorted in by honorary ring bearer Dakota, probably one of the friendliest dogs I know. Their wedding was also at one of my favorite venues in Asheville, The Grand Bohemian. It is a gorgeous stylized hotel in the heart of Biltmore Village, and was perfect for their day. The elegance of the hotel is incredible, and fit for royalty!

Here are a few previews from their big day!

The Mandolin Cake

The Mandolin Cake

We love great music, and we love creating shaped cakes like this one!   We were honored and delighted to create this cake for Bluegrass legends Balsam Range.  This mandolin was made of cookies-n-creme cake, covered with buttercream fondant.  It even had eight real strings!  We served the cake at Belle Chere as Balsam Range celebrated the release of their new album Paper Town.  The crowds were serenaded with sweet tunes and treated with delicious cake.   Thank you Balsam Range!  We are your biggest fans!

One of my passions is creating lovely dessert bars. I love the look and elegance of a massive table adorned with delectable sweets! One of my favorite dessert bars was for this beautiful Wedding at the Hawksdene House in Andrews NC. Congrats Michelle and Josh! Photo Credit: Concept photography XOXO

After three years of owning our own cake business, I have at last decided to create an Artista Cakes Blog. Where shall I begin? I have a lot of blogging to do to make up for all of that lost time! Thank you for joining us on this wonderful journey. It’s going to be a sweet trip! XOXO
